Bioaerosols & environmental monitoring
Bioaerosol analysis
Microbiological analysis of bioaerosol samples from emission measurements and ambient air monitoring.
Analysis of bioaerosol samples from emissions and ambient air
Bioaerosols are airborne biological particles or particles containing material of biological origin. Their analysis may be relevant to environmental investigations, facility-related enquiries or assessments of ambient air.
Mikrobiologisches Labor Dr. Michael Lohmeyer GmbH analyses bioaerosol samples. Depending on the monitoring objective, culturable moulds and culturable bacteria can be analysed.
A suitable scope of analysis depends on the monitoring objective, sampling conditions, whether the samples relate to emissions or ambient air, and the applicable method. For ambient air samples, the microbiological analysis of culturable moulds or bacteria may be carried out with reference to VDI 4253 Part 2 or Part 3, respectively, depending on the agreed scope of testing. The analysis of emission samples is agreed according to the specific enquiry and sampling conditions.
Emissions & ambient air
Analysis according to monitoring objective, source and sampling conditions
In bioaerosol monitoring, the enquiry is closely linked to the monitoring environment, the potential source, the monitoring objective and the applicable standards or guidelines. Samples are analysed according to the agreed scope of monitoring and testing.
Bioaerosols from sources or facilities
Analysis of bioaerosol samples from emission investigations, for example from facility- or process-related measurements.
Emission investigationsBioaerosols in ambient air
Analysis of bioaerosol samples from ambient air monitoring to support the microbiological assessment of the air samples.
Ambient air investigationsMoulds and bacteria
Culturable moulds and culturable bacteria in ambient air samples can be quantified using the methods specified in the scope of accreditation.
VDI 4253 Part 2 · VDI 4253 Part 3The analysis provides results to support the further technical assessment of bioaerosol-related enquiries. A full environmental assessment, source assessment or assessment for permitting purposes is not automatically included in the analysis.
