Antimicrobial efficacy testing category

Disinfectants and antiseptics

Testing of the antimicrobial efficacy of chemical disinfectants and antiseptics against specified test organisms under conditions representative of use or standardised test conditions.

Available test methods

Disinfectants and antiseptics need to demonstrate efficacy against relevant microorganisms under defined conditions. The following test methods assess bactericidal, yeasticidal and fungicidal activity in suspension and surface tests, as well as efficacy in hygienic handrub and hygienic handwash procedures. Depending on the product, intended use, contact time, test organism and required information, an appropriate test method can be selected for the specific project.
