Microbiological drinking water testing
Drinking water testing under the German Drinking Water Ordinance (TrinkwV) provides microbiological monitoring of drinking water samples within a defined scope of testing. Depending on the installation, its use and the specific enquiry, microbiological testing may be required or appropriate.
At our microbiological laboratory, we test drinking water samples within an agreed scope of testing. Possible microbiological parameters include colony counts at 22 °C and 36 °C, Escherichia coli, coliform bacteria, intestinal enterococci, Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Legionella spp.
The scope depends on the drinking water installation, the specific enquiry and applicable requirements. If needed, we can advise you on a suitable scope of testing.

The parameters to be tested depend on the specific enquiry, the type of drinking water installation and the agreed testing objective. Suitable parameters are therefore selected for each individual investigation.
Depending on the agreed scope, microbiological testing may include indicator organisms, colony counts and other parameters relevant to hygiene. Further information on testing for Legionella spp. is available on our dedicated service page.
For selected parameters, such as certain heavy metals, sampling followed by analysis at a partner laboratory can be arranged.
